My website contact form

If you have tried to reach me this past month, I apologize for not getting back to you. Turns out the ‘contact me’ form on my website is screwed up. I’m in the process of getting it fixed, but if you have tried to reach me and haven’t heard back, please contact me directly via my email address at

Hope to hear from you soon!

Have a wonderful 2010. And thanks for taking Approaching Neverland into your hearts 🙂

Me and my new buddy Agassi

I love the fact that I’m sharing the Books, Inc. page with Andre Agassi. My book event for Approaching Neverland is at Books, Inc.’s 2251 Chestnut St., SF store on Nov. 19 at 7:30 pm and he’s at the same store the following night for his new book. Check it out!

Tonight at 7pm Ch. 17

Tonight at 7pm, NBC Ch. 17 (cable) Paul’s & my interview with Janice Edwards on Bay Area Vista will air again. Let’s hope they got rid of those black gaps between my teeth! If not, I’m painting my screen with Wite-Out.

Paul’s Television Debut

After Janice Edwards of NBC read Approaching Neverland, she called me to say that she loved the story of Paul’s and my relationship and asked if I thought Paul would be willing to come on her Bay Area Vista show with me.

After two days of excuses of why he couldn’t go on the show, Paul finally relented and met me at the NBC studio in San Jose for the taping.

I knew I was in serious jeapardy of being upstaged by him when, after we sat down together for the taping, Janice whispered in my ear “I see what you mean about those blue eyes.” He went on to steal the show. I hate him. Okay — just kidding, but watch the show and I think you’ll see what I mean. You’ll also see that I’m still struggling with my outfit choices. Maybe one of these days I’ll figure it out. Next time, I’m taking a tip from Paul and wearing a plain black t shirt.

Tune in to watch Paul’s debut for Approaching Neverland:

Pleasanton Library 10/11 at 2 pm

If you’re not doing anything this Sunday, Oct. 11 at 2 pm come on down to the Pleasanton Library at 400 Old Bernal Ave. and listen to me yap about Approaching Neverland. Hecklers are welcome. Can I lure you with homemade chocolate chip cookies????

Interview with Robin Fahr To Run Oct. 5-12!

I had a great time taping  “Conversations with Robin Fahr” this week. Robin is very down to earth and we had a great time joking (off camera) about hot flashes under the bright television lights . I was thrilled to hear that TV 30 (Tri-Valley Community Television) will be running our interview several times a day all next week, Oct. 5-12. Hopefully those hot flashes won’t be too obvious!

Families and Mental Health on Alice 97.3

Liz Saint John asked some great questions about families dealing with mental illness issues in our interview for 97.3 Alice radio’s Sunday Magazine to air Sept. 20 from 6-7 am.  I got a chance to plug my favorite mental health help organization, NAMI, which stands for the National Alliance on Mental Illness and has branches in counties all over the United States ( . NAMI has many fantastic programs, but the most intriguing one to me is Family to Family, which puts families struggling with mental illness issues in touch with other people like themselves to share information, suggestions, and comraderie. Hope you enjoy the interview!

CBS 5 Bay Sunday August 2

I’m very excited about my upcoming interview about Approaching Neverland with Sue Kwon this Sunday. The show will air August 2 at 5:30 am (for you early risers!) and will be posted on their website at after July 31. Wish me luck!

Book Reading/Signing July 15

I’m spending tomorrow baking chocolate chip cookies for my book reading/signing at Borders in Pleasant Hill tomorrow night at 7 pm. In honor of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) which is sponsoring my appearance, I’ll be reading from the first chapter of the book, which describes what it’s like for a young child to grow up with a mentally ill mom. Hope you can come. BYOM (bring your own milk!)

Book Launch

Many thanks to everyone that came to my book launch on June 10th at Borders in San Ramon.  Borders was terrific — very accomodating to all 100 people in attendance! Join me on my Approaching Neverland facebook page to see more photos!
